SMI POSTGRADUATE STUDENT INDUCTIONS 2009
New postgraduate candidates commencing with the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) and Research Centres are required to:
- Meet with the SMI’s Postgraduate Administration Research Officer in the first instance to discuss enrolment, and candidature matters. The office is located on Level 4 of the Sir James Foots Building, room 444.
- New Postgraduate candidates should be shown the exits to the building
- Meet with the Advisors and SMI’s Postgraduate Coordinator.
- Meet the Centre’s Business/Finance Manager and Receptionist to organise scholarship, computer, key, swipecard access to building.
- Meet with the SMI’s Occupational Health and Safety Officer, Ms Narelle McCallum to organise a safety induction and a building orientation.
- Meet with SMI’s IT Services Officer.
- Meet with Ms Christana Ghiculescu, Liaison Librarian for SMI.
- Student is assigned a student mentor from his/her research Centre.
- Meet with the SMI's Equity & Diversity Officer
- Introduce to the SMI Director.
