SMI occupies two locations within The University of Queensland. SMI Central and all Centres other than JKMRC are located within the Sir James Foots Building on the St Lucia campus.

The Sir James Foots Building was completed and occupied in mid 2005. Funded by the University and the Queensland State Government, the Sir James Foots Building provides outstanding facilities for SMI Central and the Centres.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The JKMRC and JKTech Pty Ltd are located at the University Mine in the suburb of Indooroopilly, six km from the St Lucia campus. The JKMRC facilities include an extensive Pilot Plant and currently provide accommodation for approaching 150 staff and students. Construction of the fifth stage of the JKMRC, involving laboratories and staff offices, will commence in late 2007.
